Here, we answer some of the most common questions from customers in Blackpool about asbestos management and compliance.

How much does an asbestos survey cost in Blackpool?
This will depend on three key factors: firstly, the type of asbestos survey you need, secondly the number of buildings and extent of survey that needs to be carried out and thirdly the age and nature of the building(s) in which the survey is required. Our business model is designed to deliver outstanding at a competitive rate. Call us on 0800 141 2676 for a free initial consultation and no-obligation quote on Blackpool asbestos service.
Is an asbestos survey required by law?
If you have responsibility for a commercial property built before the year 2000, you are required by law to have a professional asbestos survey carried out. The Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012 state that you have a duty of care to anyone who works, visits or stays in the property in making sure they are not endangered by ACMs (asbestos containing materials). To mitigate future risks, you will also need an asbestos management plan. If you have a single property or a multi-site business in Blackpool and require an asbestos survey or asbestos management advice, get in touch with RB Asbestos today.
What are the different types of asbestos survey?
There are two main types of asbestos survey. A Management Asbestos Survey is usually a primarily visual inspection of premises. A surveyor will note the condition of any asbestos-containing materials and assess any risks posed. There may be a small amount of sampling and intrusive work will be minimal. All non-domestic buildings constructed before 2000 need to have this type of survey in place. A Refurbishment/Demolition Asbestos Survey is required when planned construction, refurbishment or demolition involves the disturbance of materials. This will establish the safety of the project and assess whether steps need to be taken to prevent workers and visitors being endangered by asbestos. Materials will be disturbed in the survey and extensive samples taken. The area will normally need to be vacated while the survey takes place.
