Larger retailers with a number of properties  are usually aware of the requirements under the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012. However smaller operators are often unaware or unclear.

A Management Asbestos Survey is the minimum standard required by law for non-domestic property built pre-2000. When you are refurbishing, upgrading or demolishing part or all of your property a Refurbishment/Demolition Survey is required.

Asbestos surveys are vitally important to not only protect individuals and contractors but also protect the duty holder (you?) from potential prosecution if things go wrong.

Once you have the survey information you are legally required to manage the asbestos within the property. This involves a bespoke plan, systems and training.
