Is it magic?
One very interesting story about how asbestos was strangely used goes back to the 700’s where Emperor Charlemagne is said to have owned an asbestos table cloth. He would remove the table cloth after a feast and throw it into the fire. The stains and crumbs would burn away but the table cloth was left unharmed. His guests would gasp in awe as he threw the cloth into the fire and became convinced that he had magical powers!
Can you imagine the quick clean up routine that would have been after a huge dinner party?! It’s such a shame the material was made from a deadly material or I would have thought twice about having one in my home!
