Here in our FAQ section, we answer some of the most common questions we receive from customers about asbestos management, surveys and compliance.

How much does an asbestos survey cost in the North West?
There isn’t a fixed price for asbestos surveys in any area in the North West of England. Factors that influence the cost include the number of rooms to be inspected, as well as the age and condition of the building(s). RB Asbestos provide a comprehensive service at a competitive price, and when you get in touch we can give you a no-obligation quote for an asbestos survey on your north west based property, based on our initial discussion.
Does my local Council remove asbestos?
This depends on your individual local council, but most won't remove asbestos unless it's a property they own. So if it's a privately owned property, then the best advice would be to contact your local council and ask them the question so that you are sure. The removal and disturbance of ACMs should be carried out by a qualified specialist. The Health and Safety Executive maintain a directory of asbestos removal experts.
Is an asbestos survey required by law?
All non-domestic buildings in the North West constructed before the year 2000 must legally have an asbestos survey in place. If you are responsible for a building in the North West area, it is also good practice to make sure that employees, visitors and residents are not exposed to the considerable dangers of exposure to asbestos fibres.
