Bringing Asbestos Information Together Across Multiple Stores
Al Murad is a long-established, family-owned business supplying ceramic tiles through a network of stores across the UK.
With asbestos information held across different locations and in varying formats, Al Murad wanted to bring its existing records together and create a clearer, more consistent system that could be easily accessed and understood by those responsible for managing each store.
RB Asbestos was appointed to help bring this information up to date and provide a consistent approach to asbestos management across the company’s portfolio.
Management Surveys Across the Store Network
RB Asbestos’ survey teams carried out asbestos management surveys across the Al Murad portfolio, including the company’s Birmingham location.
As the stores remained operational throughout the project, the surveys had to be carefully planned around day-to-day activities. Our surveyors worked closely with individual store managers to arrange access and minimise disruption to customers, staff and normal business operations.
The surveys provided updated information about the presence and condition of asbestos-containing materials within the relevant properties.
Implementing Effective Asbestos Management
Following completion of the surveys, asbestos management plans were implemented at stores where asbestos-containing materials were identified.
Key personnel were also provided with appropriate training, helping ensure that those responsible for the individual stores understood the asbestos information relevant to their premises and their responsibilities for managing it.
The result was a much more consistent and accessible approach to asbestos management across the Al Murad portfolio.
Accessible Information and Ongoing Support
All stores now have access to the relevant asbestos information, while Al Murad’s store managers can contact the RB Asbestos administration team or surveyors whenever they need further assistance.
The information is also available through the RB Asbestos online portal, providing a convenient way for authorised personnel to access important asbestos records when required.
The project demonstrates how a structured approach to asbestos surveying and management can help organisations with multiple locations maintain clear, accessible and up-to-date information across their property portfolio.
RB Asbestos is pleased to continue supporting Al Murad and looks forward to building a long-term relationship with the company and its teams across the UK.
